Sometimes, not much goes on around here. As usual, I’ve been taking my camera out into the barnyard to capture a story, but one didn’t really materialize last week. I’d go out, the animals would clamor for treats, then wander off and do their own thing again. Frankly, kinda boring.
But me? I love it. Here’s what got to see in one uneventful afternoon…
Tia likes to be up close and personal, but only when I have the camera in my hand. I think she knows I can’t touch her when I’m holding it.
Doink and Brandy literally go head-to-head occasionally. Brandy gives Doink a head butt and he chases her a little. No aggression in their play, but it’s obvious Doink is not a goat and does not appreciate the action.
The chickens still aren’t laying. It hasn’t made them any less interesting to watch.
Sambuca is a bit of a loner. But when he needs a little love, someone is always at the ready.
Yes, I could be planning an exotic trip to a far away place. But why, when I’ve got exotic in my backyard?
Yep, that’s it. One boring afternoon in the barnyard. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did 🙂

Thank you for a wonderful read. Sambuca is gorgeous! I had a ewe with a topknot like Junie B’s, and I changed her name to Peri, for periwig, because it got so fabulous. The shearer thought I was nuts when I told him to just trim it a little every year, but I loved her luscious locks.
Junie B’s hair is a sight to behold. Since they’re new to me I’ve never met the shearer, but I think I’ll be telling him the same!
Lovely photos. I love tia and Junie’s cute faces. It’s never dull with animals around. I sometimes have a lull in posting then I take some photos of the chooks and a post just seems to appear.

Oh my gosh, you quack me up. I just love all the names of your critters. And who needs tv with a crew like that? ;0D
I’d love for you to share this Very Excellent Post on this week’s Maple Hill Hop! It’s just what we like to see!
Enjoy your brood.

I’ll be there 🙂
I always love peeking in your yard. You will be the hosts’ choice this Saturday at the Simple Saturdays Blog Hop! Give Doink a scratch for me please! I look forward to seeing what you share next.
Thanks so much! And yes, I’ll give Mr. Doinkers a scratch and tell him it’s from you 🙂

What fun to see all the animals you have, and the obvious pride you take in looking after them. Carol
I love taking my camera out to feed the animals too. It’s such an adventure every time! And it amazes me that I have these animals to take care of. I’m still a city girl I guess. Thanks for sharing on the Homestead Blog Hop, I always enjoy your posts!
