Around here, there’s a very deep blanket of snow on the ground and more is forecast for the NEXT FIVE DAYS. Of course, it is February in Colorado, so what should I expect?
Actually, we usually get a big dump of snow followed by days of beautiful sunshine. So I guess that’s what I expect. I’m trying not to be cranky, but I AM CRANKY and not very pleasant to be around.
To lighten my mood, I scrolled through my iPhoto library looking for some animal photos to make me smile. Maybe you need a little pick-me-up too? Hope these “oldies but goodies” help!
Hope you’re smiling now! Have a great day 🙂

Thanks for putting a smile on my face today. I have also been in a funk due to the weather. We also have the wind which causes three foot drifts. I create paths through the drifts only to return and recreate the paths. If I stay close to the house and the fences for the goat pens, I can get the goats watering done. The chickens on the other hand require me to create and recreate paths through at least two drifts. I end up making three trips back and forth to the house to get fresh water to the coops. Then comes the feeding and a couple more drifts to trudge through. I have already had it with the snow and cold. Chickens are not happy, goats are not happy and their shelters are getting quite stinky because they are staying in all day. You can guess what they do when they stay in, yup poop, poop and poop inside not out side their shelters. Where do they get so much to poop? Yesterday they didn’t even come out for treats, only when I fed them. My dachshunds are not happy. They hate going outside in the snow and cold. I usually have to help them out with a gentle push of my foot. Then it is back in as fast as they can. This morning I was one dachshund short and had to search for Eva and dump her out the door.
Thanks for giving me a spot to grump off. Have a better day. Got to go and trudge through some drifts.
Yup. We’re ALL waiting for a few warm days 🙂
Awwhhh thank you! Yep, we all got the screaming meanies from the weather. I’m calling it the never ending winter. Sending you sunshine and warm thoughts. Best, Kim

It’s nearly March – Spring will soon be here – honestly! 🙂 Weather here in Italy is too mild – nice for us but not good for the olive trees. We need very cold weather and lots of snow to see off the olive beetle – otherwise there will be no lovely green olive oil again later in the year! I know the chickens don’t like it but – bring it on! 🙂

Oh my I can’t decide which one is my favorite….Lucy and Ethel are remind me of my Heidi and Huckleberry. Did you paint the names of your goats on the side of their house? That’s too cute.
Glad you shared at Simple Saturdays.
