With winter weather soon upon us, I’ve been watching for signs that Brandy has really, truly accepted Jessie as part of her family. Indoor time will greatly increase as the snow flies and I’d like for the mood in the goat shed to be all happiness and butterflies and unicorns. Just the way I roll, you know.
Overt animosity has decreased, that’s for sure. I’ve observed Brandy letting Jessie sit close, not quite touching but close, as they chew their cud in the late morning and early afternoon.
Playtime has been evolving, too. For a long time Jessie has been following Brandy around looking like a younger brother pestering his older sister, “Come on, don’t ya want to play?” Her reply was something like, “Uh, can’t you see I’m busy writing in my diary and listening to the Beatles? Go away!” But recently, signs of play, real play, appeared.
There’s hope, I think. Don’t you?

Reminds me of a video I saw on Facebook last week of a sheep trying to teach a young bull how to play.

Awww! I think there is hope for sure. I don’t know much about goats, but I know these two will make it work! 🙂

Yay woot woot time makes everything better. So happy they are getting along and playing. Hoping winter doesn’t kick all in yet and you all have more time outside. I’m also hoping it got a bit warmer and melted the snow in your hood?
